Baked Glazed Ham

- 3 lbs canned ham
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 grated orange, rind of
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup cider or 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 6 -8 pineapple slices
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 6 -8 dark sweet cherries, canned, pitted
directions
- Scrape jelly off the ham and reserve.
- Place ham in a baking pan.
- Melt honey and spread over surface of ham.
- Mix orange rind, mustard and brown sugar together and sprinkle over the surface of the meat.
- Pour cider or juice over the ham. Add reserved jelly from the ham to the bottom of the pan and baste gently over the ham without disturbing the sugar coating. Bake 30 minutes in preheated 400 degree oven basting after 15 minutes.
- Melt butter in frying pan and fry pineapple slice with light dusting of sugar until browned on both sides. Serve around the ham with the canned dark cherries in the center of each ring.
- Use pan liquid to make a sauce by adding water and lemon juice if too sweet.

<p>I've collected recipes since I was a teen. After all these years I'm trying to get all my index cards and clippings, that still sound interesting to me, posted here so that I can find them and eventually make them! <br /> <br />I've posted some of my Mom's recipes. I regret not having paid more attention to my Grandmothers' cooking. They made some dishes that I miss and there were/are no recipes for them. <br /> <br />I have a wonderful DH and 2 wonderful sons. They are thrilled that I found this site since they directly benefit from it! Before finding 'Zaar, I was less of a cook and more of a recipe collector but now I try many more things and we're having more fun in the kitchen (at least I am)! <br /> <br />Thanks for all your ratings, comments and help in the forums AND for posting so many great recipes. You've enhanced my cooking skills and expanded my horizons!
