    Tander's Note:

    These are a family tradition, Thanksgiving and Christmas. My mother-in-law always had a dish of these on the table. The recipe was handed down to her, it is probably 100 years old, at least. Prep time is for about 16 stuffed dates.

      Pit dates (pitted dates tend to dry out)

      Stuff with cream cheese

      Press walnut half into cream cheese
    4. 4
      Roll in powdered sugar (re-roll leftovers).

      These are so easy and perfect for hors d'oeuvres. They are a little healthier than most candies and taste fantastic.

      It used to be my job as a child to make the stuffed dates for Christmas. We used the same recipe but didn't use cream cheese and used granulated sugar instead. This recipe looks even better!

      Aren't these great! I make these every Christmas too along with some of the dates stuffed with just peanut butter and rolled in the sugar. The little grandkids like those best.
